e-safety

Cholsey School takes e-safety very seriously.  However, children also need their parents to be educated about this ever-changing area if they are to remain safe.  Many children's knowledge of the internet is way ahead of that of their parents and teachers, and useful resources can be found below on the SAFE site.  There is also a link to the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board.

The parents' section of the Thinkuknow website provides information to support parents and carers to understand and respond to the risks their children may face as they grow. It covers a broad range of online safety issues from nude selfies to what to do if you think your child is being groomed online. Find it at: www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents.

There are also many resources for children, parents and schools on:

One of our parents has kindly put together a flier to support parents with internet safety. This gives lots of links to help you at home.

http://www.nspcc.org.uk/shareaware  is the up to date site for parents and is highly recommended.
