School Council

We encourage children to take part in democratic procedures from an early age. They all have a part to play in the running of the school and each class elects representatives to the School Council every six months. We seek their views through our School Council and more informally via class and whole school assemblies and by giving them opportunities to talk easily to all staff, including the Headteacher. When we wish to gather more information for a particular purpose we use questionnaires or surveys. The results of our recent research tell us that most children enjoy learning and feel safe and secure at school. As a result of School Council initiatives we now have Friendship Benches, more play equipment and greater access to our nature area. Each summer, the School Council meets with the Full Governing Body to discuss the previous year and the plans for the future.
